These are the values that guide the Greensuits team of 150 volunteers as we plan and run Welcome Week for 850+ incoming DeGroote students — and they're at the heart of "Leading the Legacy" and showing every first-year that "We Are One."
Clear, open communication is how Greensuits shows up for one another and for incoming students — making sure every first-year knows they have a place to thrive and grow in our community from day one.
Welcome Week moves fast. Our team stays flexible — meeting students where they are and adjusting on the fly to keep every event high-energy, inclusive, and unforgettable.
From the first-years we mentor to the reps who grow into leaders themselves, Greensuits is about creating a lasting impact that continues to inspire the next generation.
Meet the 2026 Greensuits Lead Team.
“As Captain of the Welcome Week ship, I’m beyond excited and grateful to be sailing into this year alongside a team that defines resilience, passion, and energy. Ever since I first stepped onto campus, it has been clear that DeGroote is built on people showing up for one another, and it all starts right here with Greensuits. Together, we are committed to raising the bar and ensuring that every individual knows they have a place to thrive and grow in our community. It’s time to Lead the Legacy and show everyone that We Are One.“
“Welcome Week has been one of the most meaningful parts of my university experience, and I’m incredibly excited to take on this role for the year ahead! From my own first-year Welcome Week, the Greensuits reps made a lasting impact on my transition to university, inspiring me to want to create that same experience for incoming students. I’m grateful to be working alongside such a passionate and driven lead team, and I can’t wait to help create an unforgettable Welcome Week for the incoming class!”
“Welcome Week is all about creating moments that make students feel like they belong from day one. I’m beyond excited to step into this role on the Greensuit Lead Team and help build an experience that’s high-energy, inclusive, and unforgettable. From the growth I’ve experienced at DeGroote to the connections I’ve made as a rep, I’m grateful for the chance to give back and help set the tone for incoming students’ journeys. Working alongside this passionate team, I can’t wait to Lead the Legacy and show that We Are One.”

Our mentorship program is an invaluable opportunity to grow academically, socially, and professionally.
An upper-year mentor, paired with you based on common interests, will guide you throughout your first year with study tips, extracurriculars, exam season, and more.
